Transformation Tuesday *Nutrisystem Conclusion*

Okay y'all guys, so I finished Nutrisystem on March 3rd, and I didn't log my food that week, but what I can tell you is that all the meals were items that I have already had, therefore, there were no new meals to write my opinions about. I did eat the 3 Nutrisystem meals each day, as well as drinking at least 64oz of water, consuming the Powerfuels (eggs, lowfat cheese, or cottage cheese) and my Superfuels (hummus) and my 4 servings of veg each day.

At the end of 6 weeks, with zero exercise, I lost 16lbs. I made it 40% to my goal in 6 weeks without working out. I'm INCREDIBLY pleased with those results. My thoughts on the Nutrisystem program as a whole are as follows...

First off, I don't care what Marie Osmond says, you canNOT live on this diet long-term. Sure, you're drinking a ton of water and eating a shitton of veg, but all in, this food is not HEALTHY for your body and you should not try to sustain yourself on it. Secondly, the program suggests 10 minutes of activity 3 times per day, and I did not do that, so I probably could have lost at least 20lbs in total if I had done everything by the book. I have excuses, but I'll keep them to myself, because they are precisely that. Excuses.

The food is mediocre, but not horrible, and that is coming from a chick who loves to cook and eat like Paula Freakin Deen. Mo' butter, mo' better.

I highly recommend the use of a fitbit, I got mine for my birthday, which was about halfway through, and it was super encouraging to see my steps, calories burned, etc. I also recommend using the Numi app and/or website to track all your drink/food intake. I benefit greatly from journaling and really seeing what I am putting into my body. All in all, I wouldn't take the experience back, but I wouldn't do it again. It served it's purpose giving me a jumpstart on my 40lb weight loss goal.

On another note, when you have 40lbs to lose, and sixteen are gone, you feel AMAZING, however; the general public isn't really going to notice much unless they are really looking at your face, or if you streak around your workplace. To each his own, no judgement here.

I feel so much more comfortable in my clothes, I am fitting into things that I didn't before, and sometimes I even open my eyes and look in the mirror before I get into the shower. My libido has increased dramatically as well. My all around confidence in myself, and my belief in my own ability to achieve has also skyrocketed. I honestly did not think I had enough will power to complete 6 weeks of eating mediocre food in small portions.

I do NOT believe in a societal norm of size or weight for women. I believe that we should all embrace ourselves at whatever weight and size we feel comfortable and confident.

I firmly believe in Weight Watchers which is how I plan to continue my weight loss journey, however, the next 24lbs will definitely come off much slower, but in a healthier way. I have also downloaded the 5K Runner app which I plan to begin with our pup next week, or the next, or never, because that is how honest I am. We also have a set of weights in our garage that I plan to begin using at the same time that I start the running... so, who knows?!?!

If you see me around town, you may not be able to tell as big a difference as I can, since you aren't living in my skin, or seeing me naked. Feel free to ask my husband, not to see me naked, but you know, if he can tell.

The photo below is me, in the red shirt, at Thanksgiving at my daddy's house and I was about 175 (because if I'm not honest about the numbers, I'm not sure if I really feel like it counts for me); the photo in the blue shirt, was this weekend, and the scale is currently hovering at 157 and change. As you can see, I'm very happy with my life in both photos, this journey is an extension of my inner happiness and self confidence in my effort of having 'all the things' in 2017.

Cheers!

I did it!

Remember last year when I went on and on about why I couldn't finish any of my books that I had started? When I had a plan to write so many words per day to finish my book, and how I had figured out what I was missing? Well, its done. I finished it. 192,327 words. I did it. And I'm not sharing it with you. at all. I worked on it for months making it about someone else, but the story, my story, was so painful and it left me raw and angry and dark; I simply couldn't pretend it was someone else's story. So, you know what I did? I wrote honestly. I used the real names and literal events. I wrote down every single thing, regardless of who did what to whom, regardless of whose fault things were and I got it all out. 192,327 words of it. It was the most cathartic experience of my life and it took me so much longer than I thought it would. Sometimes I would write for hours, and it left me so drained I'd have to leave it for weeks, re-healing wounds, putting it all...

TWENTYEIGHTEEN Y'ALL GUYS!

Y'all. How has another year already gone by? And seriously, has it really been almost five months since I blogged last? What the actual F?!? Where did 2017 go? I wasn't done kicking ass and taking names yet... honestly though, I'm not even a little sad its over. I got a whole new freaking year to kill it. Right? I'm pretty sure I have hit those years that my parents used to talk about 'time flying'. SLOW DOWN. Or, you know, speed the hell up, like, get me right to retirement, I'm moving to Honduras! jaykay, jaykay. I am loving all the kids, and soaking up all the memories. I know. It only happens once. all that. So many of my high school friends/acquaintances have either just had their last baby, or are about to. And I'll be honest, I'm super jealous. There have been tears. Many. And I don't even like to cry. But then, I start doing some simple math, and I'm like, I will not even be 45 yet when my youngest graduate high school... y'all ...

#allthethangs

Near the end of 2016, one night while Stephen and I were lying in bed, I told him, "2017 is going to be our year. I can feel it. I know it. We are going to have all tha thangs," and then last night, he reminded me of this and *GASP* told me I was right! This year has been wild, but this summer has been bountifully, overwhelmingly perfect. Obviously, you know we closed on our home, which was hitting the biggest goal we have had for the last (almost) four years. We also bought a new vehicle, which we desperately needed, but were holding out until after we closed on our home, you know, 'just in case'. There is something else  that we have been wishing/hoping/praying for since I've known Stephen, and it has finally come to fruition. She's here y'all, and not just for her required 42 days this summer. She's here. She is going to school here, I just dropped her off for her first day this morning. She is making friends, learning to drive, and buildi...
