Nutrisystem Week 2

Day 8

I woke up and jumped on the scale, because, well, a week of prepackaged food should yield some decent results, right? I was down 7.5lbs after one week. I am feeling like that is a win y'all guys!
This week changes in the sense, that I will have weekends off beginning this coming weekend through the remainder of the 5 weeks left.

What I ate-- I ate all 4 servings of my veggies, and drank my 64 oz of water in addition to the following.....
Breakfast: Blueberry Lemon Bar. Holy Mother of all things good and right. This thing was freaking delicious. I would eat this every morning for breakfast, no shit.
Lunch: Cheddar Broccoli Rice- This was pretty good, but it was definitely a soup, it didn't thicken up like I expected it to, but it was still tasty.
Dinner: Chicken Pasta Parmesan- This was nothing like I expected from the title. It tasted fine, but I'm glad my package only came with one serving of this.

Day 9

I woke up counting down to the weekend. I am both excited and dreading SuperBowl Sunday. I know I get to partake in normal food, but I am super anxious about undoing everything I have accomplished. Moderation. I can.

What I ate-- I ate all 4 servings of my veggies, and drank my 64 oz of water in addition to the following.....
Breakfast: Cinnamon Bun Bar. I already told you about this one last week. Not my favorite, but I choked it down.
Lunch: Tortilla Soup. Again, I ate this last week and I put it in my menu for this week to get it done and no longer something to look forward to dreading. It was fine, not delicious.
Dinner: Mac & Cheese Turkey Sausage. This was surprisingly tasty. It was made with white cheese and I was absolutely satisfied after this meal with my veggies.

Day 10

What I ate-- I ate all 4 servings of my veggies, and drank my 64 oz of water in addition to the following.....
Breakfast: Granola Cereal. I ate it dry because I would rather do a lot of nasty things than eat cereal with skim milk. just ewww. It is somewhat tasty and satisfying.
Lunch: Beans and Ham Soup. Misleading. This was bean soup with a ham flavored broth/gravy. There may have been tiny flecks of ham, but it was bean soup. It was tasty and packed with protein.
Dinner: Hearty Beef Stew. Other than being a small portion, this was exactly as described and delicious. I steamed 2 cups of brussel sprouts to have with my dinner and was only able to eat about half.

Day 11

I was on the road quite a bit on Thursday and pretty anxious about getting my meals and water in. I ate breakfast before I left, and then had my lunch and pounded water after I got back to my office. I am ready for my weekend off at this point, struggling with will power a bit. To make things even worse, I ordered a new scale that was delivered and when I compared it to my old scale, I actually weigh 1.5lbs more than I thought I did. Bummer. However, given all that, I am down 10 lbs at this point.

What I ate-- I ate all 4 servings of my veggies, and drank my 64 oz of water in addition to the following.....
Breakfast: Peanut Butter Granola Bar. YUCK. Peanut butter is supposed to come covered in chocolate, but alas, that is probably why I need to lose weight in the first place. This was a granola bar with PEANUTS in it, held together by a PEANUT buttery type substance, covered on the bottom with a PEANUT glaze. It was too much. ew.
Lunch: Trail Mix Bar. Nut, chocolate and dried fruit. It was everything one would expect from the title. Plus, I got a little bit of chocolate, so it made up for this mornings horror.
Dinner: BBQ Chicken WITH A ROLL. I got bread y'all! Wahoo!!! This is not how I would usually eat bbq chicken, but it was tasty, and I got bread. No complaints.

Day 12

I can't believe I have 4 more weeks of this shit. F*ck around. So much weight loss last week and so little this week. Today I am feeling a little discouraged, but I keep telling myself that every little bit counts and I am one-third of the way through this thing. I'm going to stick it out.

What I ate--
Breakfast: Cinnamon Struesel Muffin- another joyous dense sponge cake. It was fine. I'm ready for some eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy.
Lunch: Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar
Dinner: Chili (refer to last week for my opinion on this one). I did add a fresh tomato and some jalepenos this time and it made the dish much more tolerable.

Day 13

YYYAAAASSSS!!!!! EAT ALL THE THINGS!!! OMG. MY LIFE IS COMPLETE AGAIN, I GET REAL FOOD!!!
Our littles were away this weekend, so it was just us and we ran around town on Saturday. I did get up and make a breakfast casserole that was *mostly* within the parameters of the diet and if you'd like to try it, the recipe is here . I cut the cheese a bit and used lowfat to make it Nutrisystem friendly-ish. It was amazing, and I will totally make it again. We skipped lunch (bad decision) and then had Pad Thai from our favorite place for dinner. I had a serving and a half. I ate some veg and did drink my water for the day. I also had a Colorado Bulldog with the Kahlua we just made from my Grandma's recipe.

Day 14

YYYAAAASSSS!!!!! EAT ALL THE THINGS!!! OMG. MY LIFE IS COMPLETE AGAIN, I GET REAL FOOD!!!

We had leftover casserole this morning and spent the day hanging out and smoking a brisket together. I ate so many things. SO MANY THINGS. Little Smokies are NOT, I repeat, NOT worth the calories y'all guys. For real. So here is a snapshot of my Sunday Funday.

Breakfast Casserole: apprx 200 calories
Brisket 3.5 oz: apprx 200 calories
Fresno Pepper Poppers made with Greek Cream Cheese (3): apprx 200 calories
5 Little Smokies, FIVE. Just five: apprx 200 calories
Imitation Crab Meat (don't judge, we love this shit): 1 oz, apprx 80 calories

I also had 2 Miller 64s and a Colorado Bulldog for a total caloric intake of about 1300. Now, I also walked to the Neighborhood Market, for exercise, and took Sadie, our blue heeler for a walk for a total of 5 miles on Sunday, and I was walking as quickly as possible, burning apprx 600 of those calories off.

I had all my water and veg for the day also.

I have realized that I would definitely rather make time to work out and eat moderately healthy than eat lean cuisine shit all the time and never work out. I have 4 weeks left and I have lost a total of 10lbs. I am 25% to my goal, and one-third of the way through this diet. To celebrate my achievement, I got a new 'do, but I really wanted a red velvet cake.

Chat next week friends!

#allthethangs

Near the end of 2016, one night while Stephen and I were lying in bed, I told him, "2017 is going to be our year. I can feel it. I know it. We are going to have all tha thangs," and then last night, he reminded me of this and *GASP* told me I was right! This year has been wild, but this summer has been bountifully, overwhelmingly perfect. Obviously, you know we closed on our home, which was hitting the biggest goal we have had for the last (almost) four years. We also bought a new vehicle, which we desperately needed, but were holding out until after we closed on our home, you know, 'just in case'. There is something else  that we have been wishing/hoping/praying for since I've known Stephen, and it has finally come to fruition. She's here y'all, and not just for her required 42 days this summer. She's here. She is going to school here, I just dropped her off for her first day this morning. She is making friends, learning to drive, and buildi...

SO CLOSE!

Y'all guys, OHEMGEE, y'all guys! We are now less than THREE weeks away from closing on our home and moving in. WHAAAAT?!?! I need to get busy! Anyone wanna volunteer to come help me pack? This weekend, next weekend, or the weekend after that, I'm totally free... you know, for packing. Come on and make a trip to A-Town! We got wind and dirt for days, you can't even imagine! I'll wine and dine ya', take you to Cadillac Ranch, and tell you how pretty you are. SWEAR IT. Seriously though, so much to do and I want to do it all right now! We are beyond ecstatic. For one, our final rent payment cleared our account this week, and it was one of the best feelings in the world. Knowing that after 3 years of saving and planning, we are about to move into a home that is ours. Speaking of the rent thing, it got my brain wondering how much money we have spent in rent in the last 3 and a half years... Do you want to know? Its insanity. SEVENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS. Gone, jus...

TWENTYEIGHTEEN Y'ALL GUYS!

Y'all. How has another year already gone by? And seriously, has it really been almost five months since I blogged last? What the actual F?!? Where did 2017 go? I wasn't done kicking ass and taking names yet... honestly though, I'm not even a little sad its over. I got a whole new freaking year to kill it. Right? I'm pretty sure I have hit those years that my parents used to talk about 'time flying'. SLOW DOWN. Or, you know, speed the hell up, like, get me right to retirement, I'm moving to Honduras! jaykay, jaykay. I am loving all the kids, and soaking up all the memories. I know. It only happens once. all that. So many of my high school friends/acquaintances have either just had their last baby, or are about to. And I'll be honest, I'm super jealous. There have been tears. Many. And I don't even like to cry. But then, I start doing some simple math, and I'm like, I will not even be 45 yet when my youngest graduate high school... y'all ...
